OTHER DATABASES

As reinforcement to databases dedicated to the freight traffic and port flows, we have designed a range of additional databases, which complemented and define, altogether, an information ecosystem, in which is possible to implement all the analysis derivative or interrelated with these previous ones, e.g.:

  1. The comparison of transport modes
  2. The interpretation of trends using relationships with cyclical indicators
  3. The comparison of competitive positions between countries
  4. Etc.

1. BENCHMARKING BETWEEN TRANSPORT MODES

Knowledge of the scenario in which we are competitive to capture an identified freight traffic, alternatives for intermodal transportation analysis, logistics or transport chains designs or, from an opposite perspective, the determination of costs and times for the different distances from where we are, selection of origins or destinations in which we are competitive or third parties flows study in order to capture them. For this purpose, we have integrated a set of databases that store all the information that could be required in processes such as:

  • Cost per km for different types of vehicles for road haulage transportation (rigid, articulated, tankers, refrigerated, etc.) taking in account fixed and variable operating costs
  • Cost per day and nautical miles of different types of ships
  • Distances and times between capitals cities of provinces and major cities of every country in Europe and North Africa
  • Distances, times and costs of hauling between province capital cities and national ports
  • Etc., etc.

2. THE INTERPRETATION OF TRENDS

Thanks to the potential and precision of our databases, it is possible to draw forecasts for the time horizons required: five, ten, fifteen years, etc. However, sometimes these data have to be studied in a broader context. For this reason, we provide additional databases, such as those describing the behavior of the shipping companies which operate container shipping lines or the expected behavior of the general economic scenario and the maritime transportation sector in particular.

3. BENCHMARKING BETWEEN COUNTRIES

To analyze, for example, processes of internationalization:

  • Cost of business start-up procedures
  • Cost and times to export and import
  • Number of documents to export and import
  • Lead time to complete an operation of export or import
  • Etc., etc.
